What You Will Be Doing
Responsible for developing suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures by identifying financial and non-financial performance measures, formulating and communicating the audit plan, answering complex questions involving GAAP and GAAS, and composing technical consultation memos on engagements related to GAAP / GAAS issues. In this role, the Audit Manager maintains key client relationships and serves as the primary contact for clients regarding complex questions and information.
Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements in a wide variety of industries with the ability to manage to budget.
Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively.
Consult, work with, and service client base to make recommendations on business improvement and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to client.
Understand and manage firm risk on audits and proposals.
Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
Actively participate in recruiting talent to the firm.
Attend professional development, networking events and training seminars on a regular basis.
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
What You Need for this Position
Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or equivalent; MBA/Masters in Accountancy is a plus.
8 to 10 years of progressive audit experience.
Recent experience managing audit engagements for public companies or large private companies.
Active CPA license.
Advanced GAAP and GAAS knowledge.
Sound working knowledge of SEC and PCAOB rules.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent people development and delegation skills, including training/instruction and engagement scheduling and budgeting.
Excellent client development/relationship-building skills.
Ability to resolve complex accounting issues.
