Currently, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to Manage a group of engineers and manufacturing support staff who provide technical services and capital project support.

What You Will Be Doing

Manage a group of engineers and manufacturing support staff who provide technical services and capital project support. Responsibilities of this group include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and enforce Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance in all activities of the group with the objective of achieving zero incidents.

  • Ensure alignment of the skills and incentives with the needs of manufacturing

  • Participate in the development or selection of standard technologies and support a vision of innovation and automation.

  • Provide technical expertise in support of scope development of capital projects for the recovery and power areas of an integrated Paper/Pulp facility.

  • Provide personal development guidance for your direct reports.

  • Analyze existing systems, and develop strategies for improving safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality.

  • Perform benchmarking, gap closure analysis, and preliminary technical and economic feasibility studies in order to modify or add to existing recovery,

recausticizing, steam generation, power generation, and utility systems.

  • Manage employee performance through RREs, feedback, Individual Development Plans and Performance Review

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

Leadership skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, business units, manufacturing and other staff support groups

Proven ability to grow future leaders

Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel including management, operating and maintenance personnel

Strategic thinking and ability to make decisions based on data and facts

Effective written and oral communicator

Ability and experience holding difficult conversations

Proficient in the use of MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, & Word

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role getting things done with and through others

  • Experience building relationships within an organization and with external customers

  • Experience in leading projects and implementation of project activities

  • Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of continuous manufacturing

  • Ability to travel at least 50%

  • Bachelor's or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred)

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in operations of Kraft recovery process and steam and power generation (strongly preferred)

  • Experience working In the Pulp and Paper industry (strongly preferred)
