Manufacturing Engineer needed for a well established components manufacturing company!!

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement improvements in manufacturing process by studying product manufacturing methods and process flows. Additionally, this individual will look for ways to automate manual processes to improve output and quality while improving margins.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Identify and provide project management for larger projects

  • Identify and spec out ways to automate manual processes

  • Provide trouble shooting on automated equipment if needed

  • Prepare and maintain Gantt Charts

  • Provide support for continuous improvement activities:

-- Identify opportunities to Automate manual processes

-- Develop necessary ROI to justify equipment

-- Work with vendors coordinating the build of automation equipment

-- Develop layouts (AutoCad, DWG) if needed

-- Prepare time and motions studies, BOM's, routings, Work Instructions

-- Chart process flow, Control plans, PFMEA

-- Perform research on best materials and methods for manufacturing

  • Participate in Lean events and follow up on approved improvements to insure their effectiveness and continued value.

  • Provide leadership by guiding the activities

  • Periodically report on progress

  • Provide support for any major equipment and process installation and setup.

  • Interface with equipment manufacturer, operations, maintenance, safety, quality

  • Train affected employees

  • Establish maintenance schedules, calibration needs, safety guarding and procedures, etc.

  • Working with Operation Management establishes goals for improvement in Safety, Quality and productivity.

  • Create and produce supporting documentation required for CAPEX on equipment (ROI)

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelors of Science in an Electrical Engineering discipline

  • Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Box Wiring

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and welding processes beneficial

  • Knowledge of CAD

  • Able to deal with complexity, informing others

  • Leadership skills and experience

  • Supervision skills and experience

  • Hardware specifications

  • Manufacturing methods and procedures

  • Manufacturing quality, product development

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills

  • Read and understand engineer drawings and blueprints

  • Excellent time management skills, communication skills, mathematical abilities and analytical abilities

  • Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels, from General Managers to Line Operators
