What You Will Be Doing
-Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
-Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
-Ensure shop, equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition.
-Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
-Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to lead technician or in their absence, report to fleet maintenance -manager immediately.
-Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
-Understand and follow oral and written directions and processes.
-Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
-Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections and diagnosis, of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Rebuild, replace, or repair major vehicle components, assemblies, and systems including, but not limited to engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc.
-Perform welding, cutting, and minor body work.
-Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to evaluate electrical / mechanical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment and/or software.
-Be aware of time and materials required to perform major repairs.
-Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
-Reviews and completes repairs assigned by the lead technician or in their absence, by the fleet maintenance manager.
-Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).
-Identify potential warranty claims or possible abuse through proper diagnostics.
-Responsible for assigned service calls for emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
-Help other technicians evaluate minor mechanical problems. Assist with training entry level technicians.
What You Need for this Position
At Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:
heavy duty truck repair
