We have been one of the premier custom home builders in the greater Minneapolis area for over 50 years, and further increases in our demand + funding has called for us to bring on an additional Project Manager with at least 3 years of experience in the custom home business (or similar) to join the team!

We are looking for a punctual, detail-oriented individual to interpret plans and specifications, schedule and execute the delivery of the home. The chosen Project Manager will manage subcontractors and trade partners, maintain an organized and clean job site and manage daily project operations such as keeping costs within budget, assisting with bid packages and estimating and foreseeing long-lead items. What You Will Be Doing

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities on 1-3 projects per year.

  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.

  • Create and maintain construction schedules; identifies and solves problems related to schedules.

  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.

  • Solicit sub-contractor bids and manage sub-contractor relationships; including monitoring and controlling performance.

  • Create detailed and accurate estimates for material and labor costs (if applicable).

  • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variance; implementing corrective actions.

  • Place complete and accurate material orders with reliable and affordable vendors; manage vendor relationships.

  • Track and receives material deliveries; resolving delivery discrepancies.

  • Provides daily and weekly (weekly reports are to be more detailed) progress reports for each project.

  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.

  • Prepare schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.

  • Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

What You Need for this Position

  • 3+ years of experience in the custom home business (or similar)

  • Ability to analyze problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.

  • Understands the project plans and specifications.

  • Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work with diverse personalities and strong organizational skills.
