What You Will Be Doing

Create Bid Packages including schedule of value and general description of work

Perform site visit and document conditions.

Perform take-offs of all architectural, structural, and mechanical plans.

Establish appropriate unit values for all trades.

Review Plans for constructability.

Communicate with Design Team relating to constructability.

Development of Bidders List.

Follow up with prospective Bidders to ensure responses.

Rack up (level) responses from Bidders.

Establish preliminary Construction Schedule and Duration.

Establish anticipated General Conditions.

Summarize Budget for presentation to clients, lenders, and investors.

Develop list of potential value engineering alternatives.

What You Need for this Position

4 Year degree or equivalent in engineering or architecture

Minimum of 1 year of Estimating

Knowledge of industry standard construction means and methods a must

Thorough knowledge of unit pricing

experienced in the planning, construction and scheduling of new mid-rise residential buildings (rentals and condominiums), new commercial buildings (primarily high end retail), renovation/conversion of commercial buildings (old industrial or mill building into office, retail, and residential) and tenant improvements (office and retail spaces).
