We are an established electrical firm that has been in the industry over 40 years. We are located just outside of Pittsburgh and due to rapid growth, have need for a mechanical designer.

What You Will Be Doing

Create 3D CAD models and drawings for the manufacturing of customer orders using Autodesk Inventor.

Work with sales and manufacturing on new product application layouts.

Create assembly and customer drawings to support the Sales Department.

Assign new part numbers for manufacturing as required.

Revise prints and generate Engineering Change Notices.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings and shop prints including dimensioning, tolerances, fastening methods, and other engineering information.

Able to independently perform tasks per verbal and written work instructions.

Responsible for technical quality of drawings, revisions, part lists, and other documentation created

What You Need for this Position

AutoDesk Inventor proficiency - Includes 3D modeling of assemblies and parts, creation of 2D drawings, creation of exploded parts views, and design of sheet metal parts. In this role, you will design and develop new products, or enhancements to existing products that meet the customers specifications.

Primary understanding of mechanical design concepts and manufacturing processes. Must be well versed in standard mechanical drafting and dimensioning practices.

Knowledge of mechanical components including linear motion components, pneumatic cylinders, gearmotors, sprockets, drive systems, etc
