What You Will Be Doing

This is a very client-centric position. You should feel comfortable speaking w/ clients and managing those relationships. Some of the embedded devices and hardware you may be exposed to on this position include: payment devices, mobile phones, automotive parts, medical devices, etc.

General responsibility to include:

  • Security assessments of and research for our clients (focus on embedded devices)

  • Reverse engineer embedded/firmware security scenarios

  • Serve as a SME on industry best practices (internally and w/ clients)

  • Perform advanced level security tasks

  • Soldering duties when necessary

  • Investigate potential attack scenarios targeting clients

  • Simulate attacks w/ relevant attack trends

What You Need for this Position

Qualified candidates should possess as much of the following as possible:

  • 5+ years security consulting experience

  • Expert knowledge in general assembly languages

  • Expert knowledge in EMV standards

  • Expert knowledge in Open Platform best practices

  • Expert knowledge in reverse engineering security scenarios

  • Proficient knowledge of Embedded Linux (and similar embedded OSs)

  • Proficient knowledge of ARM (and similar microprocessors)

  • Proficient knowledge of at least one general programming language (C/C++/.NET/Java)

  • Adept at soldering

  • Adept at using JTAG and other onchip debuggers

  • Experience w/ embedded system hacking

  • Experience w/ embedded programming

  • Experience performing source code reviews

  • Experience performing application penetration testing (APT)

  • Experience performing vulnerability assessment

  • Familiarity w/ cryptography

  • Open to working across verticals/industries

  • Assist sales/business development teams when analyzing clients technical requirements

  • Clear and effective communication (verbal/written) skills w/ non-technical and technical clients/coworkers alike

  • Able to perform under pressure and against deadlines

  • Must be able to speak/write/read English

  • Open to working across verticals/industries

Serve as a general expert on things like: identity management, data protection, authentication/validation, software attack, secure data management, encryption, data protection, etc.
