We are in need of a 2nd Shift Transportation Supervisor to work out of a Seattle based Hub.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, your duties will include:
Supervise a crew of 15-20 CDL delivery drivers and hostlers.
Includes weekly scheduling and covering for sick/vacation days.
Coordinate with Operations group on tasks associated with daily business: orders, transfers, pickups, and deliveries.
Build relationships with drivers and coworkers to foster a productive work environment that stresses teamwork and efficiency.
This 2nd shift role will involve less dispatching and more yard management and getting set up for next day ( as there are less routes leaving later in the day, but the tasks will vary on a day to day/as needed basis.)
The open shift hours are set for a standard 11am to 8pm, but there may be some occasional flexibility there. The work schedule is a Sunday through Thursday shift.
Additional duties will include:
-Dispatch pre-routed and same-day orders
-Adjust for volume and last minute orders
-Manage equipment and yard hostlers
-Coach and supervise route drivers on a daily basis
-Supply scheduling input to manager
-Support other supervisors in the department
-Troubleshoot driver problems and challenges: Call in's from route/on the road (shorted product, miss picks, equipment failure…)
-Analyze fixed routing performance and work to improve efficiencies
-Support warehouse operations where and when needed
-Help manage fuel and mileage reporting
-Dispatch pickups when needed
-Communicate with yard hostlers and warehouse via radio
What You Need for this Position
Ideally experienced candidates will bring with them:
At least 2 years of driver or dispatch supervisory experience
Current knowledge of CDL regulations
-Must be experienced and knowledgeable in all areas of transportation and logistics. Mainly outbound, no 3PL.
-Have ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to think on your feet, make quick decisions, and adjust to the fluctuations of this business.
-Need to be reliable, thorough, creative, forward thinker who will be dedicated to this department and fellow team members.
-Has a working knowledge of the FMCSR's
-Has a current Class A CDL license and updated medical card
Minimum of 1 year experience with routing software
Minimum of 1 year experience with GPS software
